Both NEP 2020 and the NAAC White Paper 2022 “Reimagining Assessment and Accreditation in Higher Education in India” emphasise the need to incorporate Higher Order Cognitive Capacities (HOCC) as a core component of curricula for Higher Education in India. This article, focuses on the two questions on the implementation of this recommendation:
The Goals: What are the learning outcomes that the design of a curriculum for Higher Order Cognition should aim at?
The Means: What pedagogical strategies should a curriculum employ to achieve the learning outcomes it chooses to aim at?
